# Manage Airline Rewards

> Configure airline ranks, custom achievements, and aircraft access for a Virtual Airline.

# Manage Airline: Rewards

Use **Rewards** to configure the recognition system for your airline group. This management page is different from the public profile's **Tours & Awards** tab: the public tab displays active airline achievements and published tours, while Rewards provides the administrative controls.

## Open Rewards

1. Open an active airline from **Airlines**.
2. Open its profile and select **Manage airline**.
3. Select **Rewards**.

Rewards management requires the airline's rewards access. Owners, Managers, and Operations normally receive it; custom roles depend on their assigned access. Pilots and public-profile visitors can view published information but cannot change the reward settings.

## Configure the recognition system

The workspace can let authorized staff:

* enable or disable ranks and achievements;
* create and edit regular or honorary ranks;
* configure the flight and hour requirements for regular ranks;
* define which aircraft a rank can unlock;
* create and edit custom airline achievements;
* choose automatic or manual-by-staff achievements;
* attach or remove an approved badge image;
* grant or revoke honorary ranks, achievements, and manual aircraft access;
* review pilots and their progress;
* search and page through the pilot list.

Tour-completion badges are separate from Rewards. A pilot earns a tour badge by completing every required leg of a published tour; staff do not award tour badges from this page. General pilot achievements shown in a personal profile are also separate from airline achievements.

## Configure ranks

Regular ranks are earned automatically when the pilot meets every requirement shown. Configure the required completed flights, required hours, and aircraft-access rules. The pilot receives the highest regular rank for which they qualify. The requirements work together, so a pilot must meet both the flight and hour requirement when both are configured.

You can also create honorary ranks and assign them manually. System ranks such as **Cadet** and **Staff Team** cannot be removed. Staff Team is assigned automatically to members with an active staff role and cannot be assigned manually.

Changing a requirement does not remove a rank a pilot has already earned. Removing a custom rank can recalculate the affected pilots' regular ranks. You can lock a pilot's regular rank temporarily; unlocking it resumes automatic evaluation.

## Create a custom achievement

1. Choose **Create achievement**.
2. Enter a name and description.
3. Choose **Automatic** or **Manual by staff**.
4. For an automatic achievement, set a completed-flight threshold, an hours threshold, or both.
5. Add an approved badge image when desired.
6. Save and activate the achievement when it is ready for the public profile.

Manual achievements cannot use automatic thresholds. Automatic achievements need at least one threshold. An active achievement can appear in the airline's public **Tours & Awards** catalog, but it does not appear in a pilot's earned rewards until it is granted or automatically awarded.

## Award pilots and manage access

An authorized manager can select an active pilot, review the available progress, and award a manual achievement or honorary rank. Staff can also grant manual access to all aircraft or to a specific aircraft type. Rank access rules can match purpose, size, category, or type and can include explicit exclusions. FlyHub's general type ratings remain separate from airline Rewards.

Awarding, revoking, locking, unlocking, or granting access requires a reason. The reason is kept with the airline's management history. Before repeating an action, confirm that the pilot is still active and that the reward or access rule is still available.

Automatic progress is evaluated as the pilot's VA activity is recorded and when an automatic rule changes. Progress is shared across the airline group, not limited to one operating airline. There is no separate **Recalculate** button.

The public profile shows an aggregate count of pilots who earned an active achievement, not the recipient list or award date. A pilot's personal profile is where earned airline rewards, completed tour badges, and general pilot achievements are displayed.

## Limits and badge images

* Rank names are 2–80 characters and abbreviations are 1–12 characters.
* Achievement names are 2–100 characters.
* Achievement descriptions are up to 2,000 characters.
* Flight and hour thresholds can be as high as 1,000,000, subject to current validation.
* The pilot roster shows up to 25 pilots per page in the workspace.
* Badge artwork accepts PNG, JPEG, or WebP files up to 2 MiB with the proportions and minimum dimensions required by the form.
* A pilot can pin up to eight earned reward badges on their personal profile.

Use the current form's validation as the final authority for any plan-specific limits.

## Loading, empty, and recovery states

If ranks or achievements are disabled, or no active achievements exist, the public profile may show no custom recognition items. In Rewards, an empty list means there are no configured items or no pilots matching the current search.

If a list or action fails, use **Retry** or reload the workspace. Confirm that the pilot is active and that the achievement is still active before repeating a grant. Follow the recovery instruction shown by the page.

## Rewards and Tours are different

Rewards controls ranks, airline achievements, and aircraft access. **Tour management** controls published tours. A tour badge is granted automatically after a pilot completes all required legs of a tour with a badge configured; it is not created or awarded from Rewards.
