# Virtual Airlines Tours

# Tours

The VA Tours page is a library of tours created for an airline or airline group. It is separate from the general Free Flight Tours page.

## Find a tour

Start at `/virtual-airlines/tours` and choose an airline group where you have an active membership. The library can show a tour's title, description, operating airline, state, number of legs, total distance, badge, and your progress when you are enrolled.

Search by title, description, airline, ICAO code, or an airport used by a leg. Upcoming tours can be read but cannot be started before their opening date. A finished tour can remain visible when you already enrolled or have progress to review.

## Join and fly a tour

1. Open an active tour.
2. Select **Join Tour** and confirm.
3. Review the leg list and map.
4. Choose an available leg.
5. Select **Book this leg** to open VA Dispatch with the route, operating airline, tour, and aircraft types supplied.
6. Choose an eligible aircraft, finish the booking, and operate it from My Flights.

**In order** tours unlock legs consecutively. **Any order** tours let you choose any pending leg. A completed leg cannot be booked again, and an active or reserved tour flight must be finished or cancelled before another leg can be booked.

## Progress and rewards

Progress is not marked manually. A flight advances the tour only after it is completed and accepted, with the tour, leg, route, operating airline, aircraft, dates, and membership matching the requirements. Completing every leg records the tour completion and grants its badge when one is configured.

Leaving a tour keeps completed legs but stops new flights from counting until you join again. The tour page can also show custom airline awards; those awards are separate from tour badges.

## Eligibility and limits

You need an active membership and an aircraft that belongs to the operating airline and is allowed for the tour. Published tours can contain 1–100 legs and 1–500 eligible aircraft types. Airports must be valid, open, and distinct for each leg. Dates and the operating airline must remain valid.

If there is no active membership, use [Find Airlines](./find-airlines). If no tour is available, the library explains that there are no published tours or no search matches. If a leg is locked, read the reason shown on the leg and complete the required previous leg or enrollment step.

## Tours and the wider economy

A tour is an ordered activity, not a promise that every leg is a profitable standalone route. Its published route and rules can lock the operation, and completion is tracked separately from airline Rewards. Read [From Dispatch to Settlement](./flight-lifecycle) for the shared flight rules and [Virtual Airlines Economy and Ticket Pricing](./economy-and-pricing) for the difference between a tour opportunity and ordinary scheduled demand.
