Scenery Scanner

The Scenery Scanner scans your installed simulator scenery packages and shows them on a world map. It supports Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and X-Plane 12.

Open the scanner

  1. Open FlyHub Desktop.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Simulator.
  4. Find Scenery Scanner.
  5. Click Open.

Scan your sceneries

  1. Open the Scenery Scanner.
  2. Click Scan Sceneries.
  3. Wait for FlyHub to scan supported simulators.
  4. Review the map and result counts.
After scanning, FlyHub can show scenery packages by simulator. You can filter the map by All, MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, or Manual.

Why some airports must be added manually

Some Microsoft Flight Simulator scenery cannot be scanned like normal scenery. Marketplace scenery and some default scenery packages can be encrypted. When a package is encrypted, FlyHub cannot read its files directly. This is normal and does not mean the scenery is broken. If FlyHub cannot scan an airport because it is encrypted or hidden, add it manually by ICAO code.

Add a manual airport

  1. Open the Scenery Scanner.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Type the 4-letter ICAO code, such as KJFK or EGLL.
  4. Click Add Airport.
FlyHub saves manual entries on your computer. They stay available after you close and reopen the app.

Remove a manual airport

  1. Open the Scenery Scanner.
  2. Click Add to show manual entries.
  3. Find the airport chip.
  4. Click the X on the chip.

Add custom simulator paths

Use custom paths if your simulator is installed in a non-standard folder or if FlyHub did not find it automatically.
  1. Open the Scenery Scanner.
  2. Click Paths.
  3. Choose the simulator type.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Select the folder.
  6. Run Scan Sceneries again.

Which folder should I choose?

SimulatorChoose this folder
MSFS 2020The Packages folder that contains Community and Official.
MSFS 2024The Packages folder that contains Community and Official.
X-Plane 12The X-Plane root folder.
For X-Plane, choose the main X-Plane folder, not only Custom Scenery.

Remove a custom path

  1. Open the Scenery Scanner.
  2. Click Paths.
  3. Find the saved path.
  4. Click the delete icon next to it.
  5. Scan again if needed.

Scan results

The map shows scenery packages that FlyHub could identify and match to known airports. If a package appears in the scan but not on the map, FlyHub may not have been able to match it to a valid airport coordinate.
