Tracking Methods

FlyHub can track a flight in two ways: Online Tracking or Manual and Offline Mode. The right method depends on your simulator, platform, and how much automatic scoring data FlyHub can receive.

Online Tracking

Use live simulator telemetry from Microsoft Flight Simulator or X-Plane.

Manual and Offline Mode

Complete flights manually when telemetry is unavailable or when flying on console.

Manual and Offline ModeConsole pilots, unsupported setups, or pilots who cannot use telemetry.Reduced XP based on offline trust, plausibility, and punctuality.

Online Tracking

Online Tracking is the most complete tracking method. FlyHub receives live simulator data while you fly. It can detect flight phases, position, speed, altitude, landing G-force, touchdown quality, unstable approaches, runway behavior, and operational events. Use Online Tracking when:
  • You fly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024 on PC.
  • You fly X-Plane 12 on PC with the FlyHub X-Plane plugin installed.
  • You want full telemetry scoring.
  • You want crash recovery snapshots.
  • You want the in-sim overlay and close-flight prompt.
See Online Tracking for the full guide.

Manual and Offline Mode

Manual and Offline Mode lets you log a flight without live telemetry. You start the flight in FlyHub, fly it in your simulator, then enter the result manually when you finish. FlyHub uses your entered flight time, route, aircraft, landing quality, and reported issues to score the flight. Use Manual and Offline Mode when:
  • You fly on Xbox or PlayStation.
  • Your simulator cannot connect to FlyHub.
  • You are troubleshooting telemetry.
  • You want to log the flight manually.
Offline flights use an offline trust and plausibility system. This keeps manual flying useful while keeping leaderboards and XP fair. See Manual and Offline Mode for the full guide.

Choosing a default

You can choose your default tracking mode in Settings.

OnlineFlyHub starts flights with telemetry tracking by default.
OfflineFlyHub starts flights in manual/offline mode by default.
