Manage Airline: Group

An airline group lets you operate multiple airlines under one employer. The group shares its pilot roster, applications, staff roles, policies, airports, and treasury. Each operating airline keeps its own identity, ICAO code, callsign, home airport, fleet, routes, schedules, and performance.

Open Group

  1. Open an active airline from Airlines.
  2. Open its profile and select Manage airline.
  3. Select Group.
Group management requires group access. Owners can create and retire operating airlines. Managers can normally create them but cannot retire one unless they have the required ownership authority. Other roles do not receive group management by default.

Group summary

The page can show the number of airlines, aircraft, open routes, active pilots, completed flights, and group cash. The airline list can show each airline’s ICAO code, name, flagship or operating status, callsign, state, home airport, available/total fleet, routes, and completed flights. Use Manage identity to open an operating airline’s identity settings. A group profile may direct public visitors to its flagship profile while the operating airlines continue to operate separately.

Add an operating airline

  1. Select Add operating airline.
  2. If this is the first operating airline, enter the group name, short name, and group identifier.
  3. Enter the new airline’s name, short name, identifier, ICAO code, callsign, and summary.
  4. Choose a home airport from the shared airport network.
  5. Wait for the ICAO availability check and resolve any warning.
  6. Review the details and submit the form.
The new airline needs a unique identity, a valid three-character ICAO code, a valid shared-network airport, and a summary. Some codes that represent real airlines may require approval. The page does not automatically open the new airline’s profile after creation; reload Group and select it from the list. The owner can have one non-closed airline on Free or three on personal Premium, counting the flagship and all operating airlines across their ownership. A group does not add extra ownership places. Growth covers the shared active roster: 20 members free, then USD 15/month plus tax for a larger roster. Each operator uses the same subscription and does not add another 20 free places. If creation is unavailable, review the page guidance and the owner’s current limit.

Retire an operating airline

Only the owner can retire an operating airline. Before confirming, read the impact summary carefully. Retirement permanently ends the operating airline’s current operation:
  • active routes and schedules are removed;
  • leased aircraft are returned;
  • owned aircraft are retired;
  • unfinished bookings are cancelled;
  • recurring payments stop;
  • completed flight history remains available;
  • the shared employer, roster, pilots, airports, treasury, and policies remain active.
Retirement requires the exact confirmation phrase and cannot be undone from the page.

Empty states and recovery

If no group exists, the current airline can be prepared as the flagship. If no shared airports are available, choose or create a valid airport network before adding an operating airline. If the form is disabled, check required fields, ICAO availability, home airport eligibility, and the current account limit. If Group cannot load, reload the page or enter it again from Manage airline. A temporary error does not mean the group was changed. Follow the recovery instruction shown by the page.

What Group does not do

The current Group page does not provide controls to dissolve a group, transfer ownership, merge groups, edit the shared treasury, edit the shared airport network, or restore a retired operating airline. Use the dedicated management pages for the capabilities that are available elsewhere.
